You can select from our comprehensive selection of perforated sheet patterns to satisfy every conceivable bar and nightclub theme. These designs are available punched in many configurations, encompassing round, square, or hexagonal holes, slots, or special ornamental shapes. To increase design choice many of these patterns are available with different percentage open areas ranging from 6 to 55%.

This incredibly versatile metal can be folded, formed, machined or worked using a wide range of processes. Thanks to these excellent material properties, perforated aluminium has become widely used within an extensive number of entertainment and leisure related applications.

Split Battens: Wall mounting systems

Split battens are secret fixing systems designed to provide an effective and efficient way of hanging wall panels, boards, cabinets, pictures and other solid items to internal vertical structures and surfaces.

GA Panel-Fix is a superior ‘invisible’ aluminium alloy panel fixing system that provides a number of advantages over other split battens.

Aluminium’s low weight to high strength ratio makes this an ideal material for split battens. Independent testing, by the Ceram Institute, of our GAWP1 profile shows a hanging capability (subject to suitable substrate fixings) of being able to support the weight of a small car! Quite impressive for a system that weighs less than 0.6kg/metre!

The compact mirror image design of the interlocking aluminium extrusions, together with the pre-drilled countersunk holes, makes for simplicity of fixing. There is also an unobtrusive minimal wall to panel fixing distance of 5.2mm and 8.7mm for the GA WP2 & GA WP1 profiles respectively.

Aluminium Sheet: Geometric Patterns

‘Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication’

Aluminium is a highly versatile, lightweight and strong material and can be worked using a variety of metalworking techniques.

Punch-pressing and punch-cutting are among such forming methodologies and these manufacturing processes are used by the team here at Gooding Aluminium to produce a selection of patterned effects on aluminium sheet.

From our comprehensive selection of simplistic geometric designs it is possible to achieve either a rather understated classic look or, by mixing with other patterns and textures, exciting dynamic effects that manifest in many different ways.

GA’s Impressional and Transformational pattern ranges seek to satisfy the need for simple abstract designs. These patterned aluminium sheets are available from stock in standard panel sizes or can be specially produced to match your specific requirements.

These primary geometric shapes of circles and squares are based on symmetrical repetition. It is elementary motifs like these that often rise to the challenges of modern design. It was Leonardo da Vinci who said, ‘simplicity is the ultimate sophistication’.

Additionally the silky smooth tactile qualities of GA’s Ano-Sil anodised finish or the grainy textured effects of satin brushing are the perfect partners for adding that ‘extra’ something to the these touchy-feely’ patterns.

Anodising aluminium for aesthetic and protective purposes

Before extolling the virtues of anodised aluminium let’s clarify the anodising process itself.

Anodising is an electrolytic process which has been established in the architectural sector for the past seventy years.

Aluminium naturally possesses an oxide film on its surface. This oxide film acts as a barrier to corrosion and is the one of the main reasons aluminium is considered a low maintenance and therefore cost effective metal.

During the anodising process, the natural oxide film present on the metal’s surface is thickened by an electrolytic treatment into a hard abrasion resistant finish.

The thickened aluminium surface has a number of advantageous properties as compared with aluminium in its raw state. These significant advantages include the development of a silky smooth satin finish and a surface which is also more resistant to knocks and scratches and general wear and tear.
