Aluminium Wall Board Trims

You can now select from 3 distinct product ranges of ‘secretly fixed’ aluminium profiles to trim and secure all kinds of panels and wall boards.

Our new ‘Elite’ Pan-L-Trim profiles are suitable for framing 13 & 16mm boards. These minimal trims are stocked in satin anodised finish with an elegantly fluted face surface and provide the versatile design option of shadow gap detailing.

A wide range of board thicknesses (6 – 20mm) can be accomodated by our very popular Pan-L-Trim profiles. These stylish mill finish trims can also be anodised or powder coated to suit individual needs.

And finally for 3mm panelling requirements we are able to offer a lightweight series of trims in mill and anodised finishes.

How compatible is aluminium with other materials?

The use of aluminium in building construction involves its close association with many other materials. Aluminium is compatible with most, but there are a few which require some special attention.

Metallic building materials

Chromium plate

Providing the plating is correctly applied there is no acceleration of attack on aluminium.

Copper and copper alloys

Contact between copper and aluminium will result in severe corrosion. Where joining these metals is unavoidable always use plastic ferrules and washers. Water must not be allowed to drip from copper and its alloys onto aluminium.

Iron and steel

For relatively clean rural and urban atmospheres the contact areas of steel should be painted with a bituminous or red oxide / zinc chromate paint. Existing steelwork should have any rust removed by scratch brushing. Lead-free paint should be used on any new steelwork that will be in contact with aluminium.

In extremely corrosive environments, a nonabsorbent gasket, such as PVC or similar should be used in addition to paint.

Aluminium Angle: A truly ubiquitous material

Combine aluminium and its alloys with a 90 degree L shape and you have a very good example of a truly ubiquitous multi-purpose material in aluminium angle.

Aluminium angle (90 degree) can be effortlessly rolled and curved, by our dedicated ring rolling equipment, into any number of desired shapes and sizes.

Gentle curves, variations of ellipses, porthole rings, ¼ ½ & ¾ and 360 degree circles are all achievable with our fabrication facilities. Welding or mechanical joining can be employed to extend the length of these curvatures. Additionally, sudden changes of direction can be achieved with different sections being mitred and welded together.

We can also perform similar curving services with other standard geometric forms e.g. aluminium channel, aluminium flat bar and aluminium tee.
